Belleair Beach is a unique community. The chamber of commerce describes it best. "It was chartered in 1950, and is two miles long. The population is slightly over 2000. It borders Clearwater and Sand Key Park on the North and Indian Rocks Beach on the South.

Originally a "second home" location, Belleair Beach could be considered a bedroom community and up until the late 1960's had only one full time police officer and one part time officer to fill in! Housing is primarily single-family homes with some condominiums. Many of the condos are rented on a seasonal basis. There is no commercial property at all.

Our City of Belleair Beach is a quiet residential community located on the West Coast of Florida and situated along a barrier island between the resort towns of Clearwater Beach and Indian Rocks Beach. We are a relatively small community consisting exclusively of single family homes and condominiums. Belleair Beach provides a Florida home to just over 1700 full and part-time residents.

Home to retirees, families and seasonal residents, our city has a private, peaceful atmosphere with all the advantages of waterfront living and the charm of a friendly, old fashioned neighborhood. Chartered in 1950, Belleair Beach residents are justifiably proud to have preserved one of the last strictly residential beach neighborhoods in Pinellas County.

Although our City is small, we provide many recreational facilities to our residents, including four beach accesses with parking, eleven public parks, the Causeway Beach area, a boat ramp, a Municipal Marina with 20 slips and two tennis courts. In addition, the City’s auditorium is available for resident activities and parties. We are fortunate to have our own police department and one of the lowest crime rates in the County. The City, through our Code Enforcement Officer, enforces the highest in community standards. At City Hall, you will find our Administrative staff both friendly, efficient and ready to help."
